STRATA

I find myself painting in response to my environment. Anxiety and over-stimulation seem to have become the norm in our culture, and this daily white noise plays a starring role in my working process. The 'Strata' paintings are built of many layers. Extraneous information is carved, scraped and peeled away leaving only a hint of the painting's full history. Editing to a simplified form allows me to bring some order to the chaos.
